The modern battlespace challenge calls for net-centric capabilities that provide commanders with a reliable and seamless flow of information. Overwatch Systems Tactical Operations (Overwatch TacOps) is committed to responding with intelligence capabilities and integrated communications to support network-centric objectives. Distributed Common Ground System — Army (DCGS-A) is the Army's solution to meet these challenges. DCGS-A will transform the way Army Military Intelligence (MI) personnel task ISR sensors, as well as move and process ISR sensor data and intelligence information to support commanders and soldiers. This system will provide an automated and auto-assisted data-fusion capability to enable situational awareness and understanding, allowing commanders to accelerate the decision-action cycle. In some cases, it will change the way MI does business, as this is more than a change of equipment. It will also impact current doctrine, training, leader development, organizations, personnel and facilities. In this fast-paced and changing environment, DCGS-A concepts have also changed, as the Army refines the evolving operational concepts it will support. It provides the U.S. Army with fully integrated and timely intelligence and interfaces across multiple security levels. The system performs true multi-intelligence processing with information received from multiple sensors at the tactical, theater, and national levels, and publishes information through a Service-Oriented Architecture for multi-intelligence analysis.
Overwatch TacOps has been at the forefront of DCGS-A software development efforts since DCGS-A’s conception. We have built numerous analytical tools, ISR management tools, and ISR synchronization tools over the last few years. Additionally, Overwatch TacOps has provided the Program shop with the DCGS Application Framework (DAF) as a foundational architecture to which the Government can build upon for years to come. This helps maximize the overall government investment while maintaining a stable framework from which they can easily provide technology insertion updates to the field for immediate relevance.
